I had just drug my lollygagging, run-around-in-pajamas-all-morning butowski out of the shower and was pouring another cup of coffee when I heard this long, rolling rumbling sound. Thunder I thought? Naw, couldn't be. Thunder doesn't DO that here. Must be a truck. But just in case, I went to look out the front door. I no sooner had touched the door knob when I heard a series of ever louder booms. One was so hard that the door shuddered. JUST LIKE THE BIG ONE HIT. It scared the Jebesus out of me.
The weather couldn't really decide what it wanted to do today, (which meant it was perfectly normal west coast fare), warm one minute, freezing cold and massive hail-rain the next. I cannot begin to describe to you just how hard it can do that here. Literally a solid sheet of water and ice just dumped down, ROARED down upon the earth. I cuddled in and made a fine pot of buffalo chili with home-made dinner rolls for dinner.
Paperwork. The crisis statis of some of those around me. Too many things I had to do. The cold nights. They all made me very, very tired. I welcome the approaching storms. I feel the need to hibernate and rejuvenate. To learn how to tweak my new computer, now off the floor (where it sat in boxes for a week) and across the room. Sitting there. Calling me. Weakly.
I want to sleep in and wear my jammies all day. To make cinnamon rolls. Wax my kitchen floor. Drink warm nummy tea.
*Yawn*.
Oh yeah, here's a cute story I forgot I ran across about freezing your dog.
